Two months ago, the 41-year-old Allentown social worker started an online group for the Democratic senator, hoping for little more than a few new friends. Obama: Bush Falls Short As World Leader!

Barack Obama said Monday that President Bush has fallen short of his role as leader of the free world, and the 2008 election is a chance to change that. Conservative Pollster Rasmussen: "Obama Has The Highest Democratic Favorability Rating"
The latest Rasmussen Reports' Democrat Favorability/Unfavorability Ratings shows that Obama has the highest Favorability Rating at 59% with John Edwards at 57%! Clinton has the highest Unfavorability Ratings with 50% unfavorables, compared to Obama with only 34% Unfavorable. Comparing Obama's Favorability to the Republican candidates in the running, the following are the current results:

Polls see Obama gaining as Hillary appears waning.
From The Washington Times: The race for the Democratic presidential nomination has tightened significantly between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, according to recent polls that show a sharp increase among voters who have negative opinions of the former first lady. The Gallup Poll's survey of registered voters last week found that Hillary had lost her double-digit lead over Obama, who now trails her by a mere five percentage points. It also found that her favorability ratings had taken a nosedive. Clinton's favorability score fell from 58% in February to 45% last week; her lowest Gallup score since 1993. 52% percent said they have a negative view of her candidacy. This compared with Mr. Obama, who had a favorability rating of 52% percent. MORE

Brooklyn Assembly/Senate coalition May Backs Barack over Hillary (Video)
Several of Central Brooklyn's newly elected Democrats have banded together informally to consider backing Obama for president. Assemblymembers Hakeem Jeffries and Karim Camara, and State Senator Eric Adams are not jumping on the Hillary bandwagon, just because Hillary lives in the neighborhood. They are withholding judgment, but they are impressed with the amount of campaign funds collected by the Obama campaign. Jeffries stated further "He's inspirational, intelligent and a breath of fresh air. He also raised a staggering amount of money and demonstrated his wide range of appeal across the United States." In the April 20, 2007 issue of New York magazine's, "Daily Intelligencer," young Hillary Clinton fans are called "HillBlazers" and, while the moniker is not official, the young Obama fans may be called "Gen-O!" "Gen-O is a different kind of concept to match a different kind of politics," the Obama camp says, more about 'friendraising' than the charmless money grabs that usually come with cutthroat, celebrity politics." Rasmussen Reports: "Obama Moves to Top of Poll: 33% Would Definitely Vote for Him"
According to Rasmussen: Obama is up, Giuliani slips to second, Edwards gains ground, and the other candidates remain in pretty much where they were a month ago. Those are the April results from a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey asking if citizens would definitely vote for or against the 2008 contenders. Thirty-three percent (33%) of Likely Voters say they'd definitely vote for Obama. That's the highest total received by any of the ten leading Presidential hopefuls included in the poll. MORE

Obama said the war in Iraq is a product of U.S. President George W. Bush's "stubbornness and obstinacy." "The war is about an administration that is trying to preserve its own political viability," Obama told a crowd in Atlanta. "We have to keep up ratcheting up the pressure every way and every week to tell the president it's time to change course, to tell the president it's time to bring the troops home."

Obama's Up, Clinton's Down and Edwards Has Got Trouble
The most interesting news from the campaign trail at the moment is actually coming out of South Carolina, which is scheduled to hold a critical primary January 29. That's a week after New Hampshire votes and so South Carolina could be a definitional player in the process leading up to the "Super-Duper Tuesday" primaries of February 5, 2008. A new Insider Advantage survey, which was not conducted on behalf of any of the campaigns, gives Barack Obama a substantial lead. Obama's at 34%. Senator Hillary Clinton has 20%.
